International cooperation

Over the past years, different FFA studios have cooperated with partner institutions on workshops, exhibitions, field trips. Among them was a workshop at Kunsthochschule für Bildende Künste in Dresden with Monica Brandmayer and her students (organized by Martin Zet, a former head of the Studio of Video, 2011); an exhibition of students of Christian Macketanz in our AULA Gallery (2012). We have cooperated with the Oberwelt gallery in Stuttgart where our students Jakub Roczek and Marie Lukáčová nad curator Jana Písaříková presented a project call World Wide Waldensamkeit (2014); Jana Písaříková has also presented artists from the Oberwelt gallery in our AULA Gallery (2014); since 2014, we have cooperated with GEDOK in Stuttgart and made exchanges of artists and students – so far Chris Naegele, Grazia Maria Sachitelli and Ioannou Iokasti have been our artists in residence; furthermore, our Studio of Sculpture 1 has been collaborating with School of Visual Arts in New York on exhibition and short-term student exchange.

The ongoing project focusing on digital sculpture, called Digital Exchange, is based on data transmission; the data is then printed and exhibited in the country of the host. So far, the project has been presented in three galleries in the Czech Republic : in Brno, TIC Galleries, http://galerie-tic.cz/2014/03/digital-exchange/, Transmission: Crash Test 5 in Prague Topičův Salon in 2015 http://www.topicuvsalon.cz/vystava/crashtest-5-transmise/ , and in the Trutnov Municipal Gallery in 2016 https://www.galerietu.cz/inpage/digital-exchange/ . The projects were also exhibited in the SVA gallery on Manhattan.

In April 2017, students of Studio of Intermedia are going to participate in a workshop at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Israel.
